Making your mark in the big, tough world of glamour industry can be really difficult especially when you are a newcomer, and Armaan – Story of a storyteller, depicts the same. The movie is about the journey of a young man Armaan (Poojan Trivedi) who wants to make it big in the film industry. Alisha Prajapati who plays the female lead and also Armaan’s love interest in the movie is an aspiring actress. All seems to be going hunky-dory in Armaan’s life, until the baddie (Prashant Barot) who also happens to be Armaan’s close confidant crashes Armaan’s dreams with his evil plans. The story from there on depicts the dilemma of our lead protagonist, his inner fight between staying true to his karma and keep on fighting or simply move on and forget all the injustice.
The concept of the film is quite interesting and the movie could have shown many shades of what a human goes when faced with severe challenges, only if the editing and story pace was taken care of. The story moves ahead in a slow pace, giving way too much scenes too Armaan’s movie making process rather than concentrating on other aspects of his inner struggles.
While the music and the background score should have been much more gripping, it lacked at important places. The editor should have given more time on editing the movie, as the pace was very slow and the screen time was wasted on many unimportant scenes stretching the time and length of the movie. Although the lack of storytelling, sloppy editing certainly hampered a good subject, newcomers Poojan Trivedi, Alisha Prajapati, Netri Trivedi and Twisha Bhatt need to work on their acting chops.
