It's time directors like Vasanth infuse new ideas into Kannada movies instead of just sticking to a formula and making a film. Cool Ganesha is nothing but an addition to the list of movies released in 2013. Except that it has Jaggesh as hero, the story is old wine in new bottle.

Cool Ganesha (Jaggesh), hailing from a middle class family, is in need of money. He is unable to return Rs 3 lakh he borrowed from Veerabhadra (Shobhraj). He is enticed to buy a site but it is in dispute between rowdies Agni Surya (Jeevan) and Hebbet Anjanappa (Harry Jose), who are relatives. Circumstances force Ganesha to join Surya's team. There is a turn to this story when Ganesha tells Surya to marry Anjanappa's daughter (Tashu Kaushik) so that their enmity ends. But the daughter is in love with Ganesha. The rest is full of drama with a curious turn in the climax.

Jaggesh has retained his old charm of witty dialogue delivery with a punch. Tashu Kaushik is impressive. Jeevan is best of the lot with his brilliant performance as a villain. Music by Manikanth Kadri is okay. Ramesh Babu has handled the camera well.
