Lala gets blessed with a special ability when he finds and plays a dholki at his house.

Review: No, the special ability doesn't put our hero in the group of superheroes but gives him the power of rhythm. An old dholki that Lala (Siddharth) finds while searching for a certificate puts a surge of energy through him and the simpleton who otherwise spends his day sleeping, starts playing the instrument like a maestro.

Prior to finding the dholki, we are told ample number of times about his habit of sleeping. One lucky day, Lala gets a job as a peon at the village school and his life is on the verge of a positive turn. His past and destiny however, don't allow him to stay on the job for more than a day. His newfound passion for the dholki surprises the villagers but gets his mother (Chandekar) worried. Turns out, Lala's father had gone missing due to his passion for the dholki and the village sarpanch and the rich Patil (Sayaji Shinde) were involved in it.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the twist in the tale; which is why the build up to it seems never-ending. Although it has a tried and tested formula, some comic situations in the film provide entertainment. Siddharth Jadhav and Jyoti Chandekar are the only ones who have some substantial roles while others are reduced to useless pawns. Manasi Naik finally gets a role that is a little bigger than a song. Jadhav's interactions with his mother remind one of those from Razzakar.

There are a lot of loose ends in the film that may you leave you harrowed. But then, this is not a movie for the thinking viewer and one can watch it only for the sake of entertainment. The 'Karz' and 'Om Shanti Om' like song that recreates the instances of the past in front of Lala, catches your attention but Dholki subsequently slips into nothing more than a formulaic film that will enthrall the front-row audience at single screens.
