Movie Review: A good story which could have been handled better by director M R Dharani. The story is a duel between a boy and an elderly man over his romance with the latter's sister. Who wins?
Director M R Dharani has selected a romantic story laced with a dramatic turn of events and light humour. However, he fails to impress with his narration by unnecessarily forcing some songs in between a couple of sequences. The first half is very loosely done; Dharani comes to the crux of the story only in the second half with Prakash Rai's exuberant performance which covers the loopholes.
The story revolves around two persons __ Guru (Yogesh) and Nanda (Prakash Rai). Guru is in love with Priya (Aindrita Ray), sister of Nanda, a businessman. But Nanda opposes their romance and gives Rs 25 lakh to Guru to forget Priya. Guru takes the money, starts a business and rises to Nanda's status. Meanwhile, Nanda fixes Priya's wedding with an NRI boy. Inspite of Nanda warning him, Guru comes to the wedding. A spate of dramatic events follows with Nanda and Guru engaging in a duel.
Full marks to Yogesh for his performance, but there's room for improvement. Aindrita steals the show with her acting and looks. Prakash Rai is simply superb. K Dattu's camerawork and music by V Harikrisha pass muster
