Times of India
: Save a melodious background score there is hardly any trace of romance in this film which gets a little too preachy with the message bit in the second half.
: Watching the movie it dawns on you that the filmmakers know even less about birds than they do about filmmaking. In one scene a fried chicken leg piece is passed of as kamsu pitta (quail)! Though it's a very unremarkable moment in scheme of proceedings in the movie, it is emblematic of the intelligence (complete lack of it rather) that's gone into the filmmaking. It's so blah that it's hard to articulate accurately in words.
Set in the backdrop of an engineering college the movie begins on a plain Jane crushing on the college hunk (well almost) note. Pallavi, a fresher takes an instant liking to Charan her senior by a year when she runs into him accidentally. On the very first day of college she's asked to deflate a bike tier by her seniors as a ragging drill. Even as she is struggling to figure out how, the chivalrous owner of the bike (Charan ie) shows her how by pulling out her hair pin.
Charan, the college topper is the ultimate good boy whose aim is to crack into a top notch management college. In a bid to gain his attention Pallavi goes on a self improvement drive and reinvents herself into this diva and rises up the ranks to become the class topper. While all her efforts to catch Charan's eye go in vain as his best friend Shayam takes a liking to her and begins to woo her. She promptly turns him down but by the time she musters the courage to admit her love for Charan on his last day of college, life draws them apart. All of that is narrated in a flash back.
Save a melodious background score there is hardly any trace of romance in this film which gets a little too preachy with the message bit in the second half. The acting is too amateurish as is the writing and everything else about the movie.
Despite a barrage of forced comic cameos - Dharmavarapu Subramanyam playing a funny math lecturer, MS Narayana who loves speaking in funny sounding slant of English and AVS as a gay dance teacher - there is hardly anything to laugh about.
