The story is about the theft of a buffalo from the house of a senior villager. It creates havoc in the village. Armed with a good script, director M Ravi narrates the story focusing on the village and its people and how they react to such incidents. But the director ends the story leaving open the question of who stole the buffalo. It's a good attempt with non-commercial elements.

A buffalo belonging to Thayamma (Pramila Bengre), an elderly woman in a village, is stolen. Search by her two daughters - Rangamma (Umashree) and Rathni (Bhavani Prakash) - proves futile. We have an interesting character - Idea (Shivajirao Jadhav) - who gives ideas to the villagers whenever they are in trouble. On his advice, a tantric is brought to the house to trace the buffalo. Ultimately, the needle of suspicion points towards Patla (Avinash Jugari), a petty thief in the village. He is brought before the village panchayat and beaten up after tying to a pole. But he says he never stole the buffalo. Who stole the buffalo then?

Umashree is the right choice for the role as she steals the show with her brilliant performance. Bhavani Prakash impresses you with excellent dialogue delivery and body language. Shivajirao Jadhav is lively for his humorous elements. Music by S Chinna and cinematography by B Rakesh pass the muster.

The movie is basically a story of a rowdy who wants to get reformed, but fails in his attempts. Though the subject is strong, director Suri has made it look tame with lack-lusture narration, especially in the first half, and sequences which are dull and weak.
