Lakshmana is a happy-go-lucky soul, but has a hidden truth. Anjali, too, a happy person, is on a mission to avenge a personal loss. The two seem to be star-crossed for they not only fall in love after meeting in college but realize they are on the same path for revenge. R Chandru has chosen to use the decade-old script of the Telugu film Athanokkade to launch politician HM Revanna's son Anup. At a time when youngsters are discarding the hackneyed tropes for more contemporary and experimental stories, it is worrisome that so much has been spent for a distasteful story that is no longer what the viewers want. The other thing that works against the film is the excessive violence that has even earned it an A certificate. Had the maker altered this and chosen to given the original story a more slick contemporary makeover, it might have stood more ground among the viewers. Loud punchlines, bombastic statements, over-the-top sentiments and dragging emotional scenes constitute this film, along with unnecessary and long comedy tracks that ensure the film seems longer than it should have originally been. Debutant Anup seems to have rather too much on his plate in his first outing but shows promise. Meghana Raj looks ravishing and does justice to her role proving how she is one of the better actresses among her contemporaries. V Ravichandaran, in his hyped cameo, doesn't create any fireworks. The ensemble cast have stunted roles in this staple masala fare. If you're a fan of the masala commercial entertainers with the formulaic fights, comedy and duet songs in place, then this one could be up your alley.
