Synopsis
The film moves around three top cops; Ashraf (Rahman), Anthony and Aryan (Jayasurya). Prithviraj slips easily into the dual shades of his character; appearing as a care-free, brash youth carrying a brutish streak of violence and as a confused man meddling with his hazy past and uncertain future.

Story: A police officer loses his memory after an accident. He needs to retrace his past in order to unravel the mystery behind a crime he had been probing.

Movie Review: Mumbai police engages primarily because it sustains interest and attention for a good period of time. The film that opens on a disturbing note ends in absolute calm. A police vehicle tumbles over and the scene cuts to the scarred face of a cop Anthony Moses, played by Prithviraj. Broken bits of his chatter over the phone pertain to the tail pieces of mystery behind a crime which he has discovered.

After the crash, his memory is blurred, so are the traces of evidence he has mustered. Bobby and Sanjay build up a racy plot peppering it with sequences that leave a flurry of questions all through the narrative. They answer each query cleverly with a shocking conviction.

The bond shared by the trio looks convincing with Rahman adding humour with a refined sobriety. Jayasurya also puts in his lot, diligently building the chemistry among the three. Mumbai Police offers a surprise that might not be accepted by one and all. But tastes are always relative and Rosshan Andrews crafts his tale with an effort that produces memorable moments.

He brushes off mush almost mercilessly and casts characters in a manner that they present their share of tender moments with the most humane temperament. A very senior cop is about to face a disciplinary action and for a moment he opens up in front of his superiors. The outburst is warm and stirring and he winds up with the service oath which he had taken when he joined the service. The scene comes across as one of the most moving moments in the film.

Mumbai Police might not be a fully delectable film. But it arrests and engages the audience with bold portrayals from a well-chosen cast.
