In any event, the scares only happen at the very end. All in all, Ghost Dimension does not really deliver the excitement that horror film fans seek.

Story: A young couple Ryan (Murray) and Emily Fleege (Shaw) and their daughter Leila (George) move into a beautiful new house and are joined over there by Ryan's brother. Ryan and Emily soon begin to find their daughter behaving strangely, talking to an invisible 'friend'. It turns out that an entity has dark plans for Leila.

Movie Review: If you saw PA 4 and were either disappointed or underwhelmed, this one too is nowhere close to the smorgasbord of scares that the first one in the series - produced, written, edited, directed and shot (in his own house too) by Oren Peli - served up. Older films in this franchise seemed like a recombination of the same set of past ingredients.

Cut to 2013 and we (again) have a family with an inexplicable love for filming themselves seemingly everywhere they go. Their camera equipment though is top-notch. It must be, given the number of times Ryan and Mike's (Gill) cameras are dropped, flung, hurled and tossed by the angry demon who, as the only exception in this movie, does not quite liked being filmed. Can't a ghoul go about his business having imaginary 3 am chats with a tiny tot without being filmed all the time by those paranoid, camera-obsessed mortals? Sheesh...

Anyways, whilst setting up Christmas decorations, Ryan and newly-divorced Mike chance upon a cache of VHS cassettes. These contain strange and terrifying recordings from 1988 of siblings Kristi and Katie (as seen in PA 3) involved in some strange rituals, with the name 'Toby' being oft mentioned. While they put the mystery of this found footage together, Leila's behavior gets freakier. A priest, (Krawic) is called in but his job might be more difficult than anyone thought. A portal to the netherworld in Leila's bedroom will remind you of the remade Poltergest.

What made PA originally effective was that it was lo-fi, not about CGI, as in the case here. In any event, the scares only happen at the very end. All in all, Ghost Dimension does not really deliver the excitement that horror film fans seek.
