Movie Review : The film has shades of yesteryear classics like Premalekha, Majnu and several other films and there's nothing novel in the theme. Director Trinadha Rao failed to pen an appealing script to engage the audience in a romantic story. The age-old plot is made worse by tardy execution.

There are so many inherent glitches in the plot that makes it difficult for audiences to connect and becomes yet another rom-com that doesn't quite take off. The conflict point (break-up) was not strongly established by the director, and the after the interval, things get even more bizarre.

The saving grace for the film is performance of the lead pair - Varun Sandesh and Haasika. Varun carried his role with a sense of elegance and youthfulness and Haasika looks traditional and has put up a decent show as well.

For a rom-com that comes with an underlyng message, dialogues are the key but there aren't any noteworthy lines in this one. On paper, these scripts look quite fascinating but to execute such concepts, director needs strong grip over the screenplay. Also, with slow narrative style and boring moments, this film may not appeal to the youngsters.

The main feel of romance is not effectively showcased, which is the key for a romantic film. Despite offering a few entertaining scenes here and there the film falls short on entertainment quotient. The lack of homework on the script and becomes evident in several scenes as none of them moves you.

Sai Karthik's tunes aren't trendy either. Also, the director of photography failed to capture the picturesque splendour of East Godavari and surrounding areas. The theme of the film had the potential to deliver a success but due to the inconsistent execution and the lack of conviction, makes the film uninteresting.

On a whole Priyathama Neevachata Kusalama is a badly done film with half baked story and the film falls flat. It lacks the feel that is much needed for this type of films. The concept too isn't universally acceptable and there's nothing to look forward to in the film.
