Synopsis
his film is definitely for those that enjoy their masala capers, filled with enough action, comedy and romance. So what if it is a remake, this film manages to have a heart of its own...

Ram helps a couple elope. It turns out that the girl is the daughter of a dreaded don. Through his misadventures, he falls in love with Chandrakala, who happens to be the don's other sister. All hell breaks loose when he finds out this truth...

This film by Vijay Krishna is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Loukyam, which itself took inspirations from many previous blockbusters in Bollywood and South. While he stays loyal to the Telugu original, there are required changes made to suit the Kannada audience's palate.
The film is an action comedy and, true to its genre, it is loaded with enough masala. And what makes it interesting is that the makers have roped in familiar and popular faces to play each character, big or small, adding to the treat. The story reminds one of many old tales right from the rivalry between two families as seen in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to the slapstick wooing of mafia brothers for a girl in Welcome.

What works is that the director has kept the momentum and very rarely the film lags, despite it being over two and a half hours in length. The highlights of the movie are some of the cameos by seasoned performers. One such being Ravishankar Gowda, playing a rising TV actor named Boiling Star Bablu, who spoofs Yash and Sudeep quite convincingly. Sadhu Kokila and Rangayana Raghu have characters unlike their usual loud stereotypes, which proves again why they're the go to men for such comedy. Sanjjanaa in her cameo as the temptress looks her sexiest best and sizzles in the Surru Superru song. Also hitting the bull's eye with their roles are Urvashi and Chikkanna.

Lead actors Chiranjeevi Sarja and Amulya make a good pair and their chemistry, especially in the songs, works for the film. Amulya seems to be getting better with each film, and is also blossoming into a gorgeous actress. Chiranjeevi seems best cut out for a role like this, for he shines in the comic scenes.
This film is definitely for those that enjoy their masala capers, filled with enough action, comedy and romance. So what if it is a remake, this film manages to have a heart of its own.
