Movie Review: Let's go straight to the climax of the movie. It is an all-important cricket match. For Ram (Raj Tarun), the outcome is hugely important in his life. He gets the marry the girl he is in love with. If he loses, his rival will get to become the bridegroom. Sound absurd that in this day and age, a girl's marriage and life ahead are dependent on who win's a cricket match! The observation having been made, since cinema is considered entertainment, entertainment is what the climax provides.

You are reminded of Aamir Khan's Lagaan . The fun quotient is high even here. As you watch eagerly, and naturally hoping that the hero wins the tie, director Srinvas Gavireddy ties up the story in knots. Ha! He takes you for a ride. Not once, not twice but at least three times during the climax. Well, it has to have a happy ending. So Ram eventually gets to marry his childhood love Seethamahalaxmi (Arthana).

Some introduction about Ram. He's failed his Intermediate. The girl he met in his childhood from the same village who he loves, goes on to study medicine.

There are many opportunities lost when she comes visiting home to the village, so Ram never gets to tell her that he loves her. His friends, partners in drinking with him, most of the time, force him to take the first step. In order to establish the hero as a jolly character, the director gets him to snatch away his grandmother's pension. That's meant to provoke laughter. Sad. Must say the director has wasted too much of screen time showing Ram and his friends indulging in a drinking binge. Bankruptcy of ideas?

Unlike movies that are being release of late with cacophony that passes off as music, a couple of songs in this movie have both meaning and melody. The cinematography and locales take the cake too.

N Shankar, a director, appears in a role as the hero's simple father with huge confidence on his son. Raja Ravindra as the heroine's father carries off himself with elan.

The progress of the movie is smooth and a worth a watch for the dose of comedy that it has. Arthana has her role cut out for her and is a scene stealer at times. Raj Tarun ensures with his acting that the audience do not get tired of him, although his friends might get on your nerves.
