Love stories needn’t always have to be cheesy or grand. In 2010, Satish Rajwade strode in the minds of Marathi viewers with the romantic Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai.
The film clicked due to its unconventionality. It broke away from clichéd love stories and mushy romance to present a practical yet lovable couple. In that sense, Rajwade has always experimented with the unconventional through his films. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Ti Sadhya Kay Karte (TSKK) treads the same path. But the film is still as relatable, as simple and as sweet as the director’s previous ventures.
TSKK is spread over three generations and has three sets of actors portraying the same characters- Anurag and Tanvi. The whole focus of the film is around first love and it unfolds through the eyes of the present day Anurag (Chaudhary). The viewers are taken into flashback and introduced to our lead characters who are then just getting to know each other. This transforms into friendship in college, a time of confusion for Anurag and realisation for Tanvi, and simultaneously the grown up duo that reminisces about their childhood.
The love stories we’ve grown up watching have conditioned us to believe in the protagonists ending up together, but TSKK doesn’t do that and that’s a much-needed break from the usual. Because, we’ve had enough of ‘ek ladka aur ek ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte’ and it’s time we accept the fact that certain relations transcend definition.
Rajwade’s films are also known for their unusual pairings; be it Atul Kulkarni and Sagarika Ghatge in Premachi Goshta or Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sanskruti Balgude in Sanngto Aika. For TSKK he pairs Ankush, a star in the true sense, with Tejashri, who has been off the screen post her TV serial Honar Suun Mi Hya Gharchi. Both actors perform efficiently. Ankush proves that he can pull off any role and Tejashri uses her potential well. Among the young actors, Aarya Ambekar sails through with ease. Abhinay Berde, late Laxmikant Berde’s son, delivers an honest performance and with some polishing, he can go a long way.
The film becomes a tad stretched in between and could’ve done without a few scenes. But it’s a sweet film that is sure to take you on a nostalgic trip.

Best movie......
If u have first true love, friendship then u realized that its importance.
Best wishes for this movie.
Thank you pallavi rajwade, satish rajwade to making wonderful film.
Takes you back to early 90''s. I believe, this film will appeal the most to the generation that was born in early or mid 80''s. This generation has seen transitioning times. They did not have malls and multiplexes, internet, computers or smart phones but they still crave for those growing up days which were a lot more fun. I guess, this film to an extent en-cashes this nostalgia and that may be one of the reasons to success. Coming to performances, Ankush has always been a brilliant performer. Tejashree has done a decent job. Veteran actors Sanjay Mone and Sukanya Kulkarni play their parts with ease. Abhinay Berde is good. Aarya ambekar iss good too, but I think she still needs to grow as an actor. All in all, good family entertainer
This movie makes you revisit your childhood. The way things are portrayed make you feel among the characters and nostalgic. Ankush is fantastic as usual and all other characters have supported him very well. The editing could have been better as some scenes simply do not convey anything but seem to be inserted for heck of doing so. Like the scene in which Ankush " accidentally:" bumps into his ex and asks for her number. He could have any way taken her number from his friend.

A very sweet and poignant tale of unexpressed love which finally finds its expression! The editing seamlessly blends the flashback with present. Almost everyone will identify with the characters .
Great phase for Marathi cinema. Accurately subtitled and hence can be watched even by the non Maharashtrian audience. Surely a must watch!
