The financial year is about to end and we have in our hands, the list of the highest tax payers in Bollywood! While the list included the regular B-Town celebs, we are seeing some surprise entrants marking their territory too.
Once again, Bhaijaan Salman emerged as the Mr. Moneybags with the tax paid by him reported to be around INR 44.5 Crores, which is a steep rise from his 2015 payment. Of course, with a blockbuster like Sultan grossing the box office, you have to make some cuts!
By paying tax close to INR 25 crore, Hrithik Roshan also saw his tax paying limit going up this particular year. A profitable year for Hrithik then!
While Deepika didn’t get major film releases in 2016, Deepika emerged as the highest tax paying actress for the financial year. According to reports, Deepika paid close to INR 10 Crore to the government.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who did not have major releases or hits in 2016 was reported to have paid a figure close to INR 3.9 Crore as tax. One of the highest tax payers in the past, Kareena’s position has gone down!
Somebody definitely had a successful year! According to reports online, Karan Johar’s wealth grew by a massive percentage and he paid around INR 11 Crore as tax, higher than the previous year!
The 24-year-old starlet is not only one of the youngest but also a hefty tax payer in B-Town. With major films like Kapoor and Sons, Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab making it big at the cash register, Alia paid close to INR 4. 3 Crore as tax.
Like always, Akshay Kumar didn’t stay behind to fulfill his tax duties. 2016 was a profitable year for Khiladi Kumar who saw Airlift, Rustom and Housefull 3 all cashing it big at the register. Akshay ended up paying close to INR 29.5 Crores in all.
Movie or not, every year Aamir Khan is a responsible citizen when it comes to paying tax. 2016 saw Aamir delivering one of his biggest hits with Dangal. This year Aamir paid close to INR 14 crores as tax.
Although, the comedian and actor is really famous, we can’t help but fumble at his tax numbers! The Kapil Sharma Show host paid close to INR 23.9 Crores as tax, which has even left Aamir Khan behind. Woah!
