Karan Johar and Nepotism

As if the director wasn't grabbing headlines already, Karan is at the receiving end of another controversy now. This time, joining him are fellow IIFA co-hosts Saif Ali Khan and student Varun Dhawan.

How did this happen now?

It all went awry when Karan and Saif, who were the hosts for the evening at IIFA 2017, decided to have a little fun with the star kids and nepotism row intiated with Kangana Ranaut's episode of Koffee with Karan.

Varun Dhawan, who won the award for the best actor in a comic role, went up to the stage to collect his award and Karan joined him on the stage.

Varun, Karan and Saif stood together. Wondering what's common between them?

Varun is the son of director David Dhawan while Saif is the son of actress Sharmila Tagore and Karan is just the preferred launch-pad of star kids, a fact which was highlighted by Saif himself:

"You are here because of your Papa," Saif Ali Khan said. To which Varun Dhawan responded, "And you're here because of your mummy." Karan Johar added, "I am here because of my Papa." The three of them then chanted ''Nepotism rocks!''

As soon as they said this, Twitterati got offended with the not-so-funny dig at Kangana.

Where will the battle reach now? Kangana, the ball is in your court now.
