From being the highest grossing film in Bollywood 2016 to becoming the highest grossing Indian film in the international market historically, Dangal has come a long way!
In a short time, Nitesh Tiwary's directorial movie Dangal, which hit the Indian box office in December 2016, released in the Chinese market to a massive reception from the critics and the audiences. Not only did it set the cash registers ringing, it also one upped the Hollywood movies like Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Jungle Book. According to sources, the movie's collections stand at a total of $307 Million worldwide, approximately INR 2000 Crores.
Not only that, the movie, which is a biopic on wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his champion daughters in the making is the only Indian movie in the list of Forbes' highest grossing movies at the Chinese Box Office.
Starring Aamir Khan in the lead with debutante actresses Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra along with Sakshi Tanwar, the movie was a raging success at the time of its release and was widely applauded for its story and performances.
