This 1960 epic, still remains one of the grandest films in Indian cinema’s history and there is just no replacing its magic, acting and the grandeur.
When it comes to defining Bollywood, there is only one movie on every movie buff, critic and fan’s list and that is Mother India. Nargis and Sunil Dutt starred in this Oscar nominated movie which should be preserved in a museum, if ever there was one!
Anand is such a poignant and emotional film that it makes even the toughest of the hearts, cry and laugh at the same time. Starring Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan, it was simply a treat to watch. A film dealing with such a grave topic yet had a simple way of presenting the story - is it even possible now?
There’s always a feel good factor about Hrishikesh Mukherjee and his films. His films can never be retouched. Be it the simple characters, story line or the slice of life comic fest, it is wonderful. The film has a lot in its store for the new gen to learn rather than restyling it with a Bollywood touch!
We definitely know that Basanti wouldn’t want this cult movie to be remade even on her dying wish. Even Gabbar would agree! Ram Gopal Verma tried to give this classic, a little spin and we know how badly that worked out!
Just like Chupke Chupke, this too deserves many accolades and we can’t stop idolizing this film. A fantastic film that should never be thought of remaking!
Ask anyone about a movie that makes you cry because it is such a laughter feast and the answer would be Andaz Apna Apna. Two of its leads, became movie giants and the comic timing and the hilarious plot can’t possibly be matched up in today’s day and age.
Vaastav was one of the best films in Sanjay Dutt’s career and it was enough for the audiences to see their favourite goon in Bollywood. Again, the script, dialogues, and the actors who played terrific characters can never be remade again. No match for this, simply!
Romance, Shah Rukh-Kajol and gorgeous locations, need we say more about not wanting a remake of this particular Bollywood gem?
Dil Chahta Hai is often called India’s first ever millennial movie and it deserves to remain the same forever - no rehashes, additions or mixing it up! Farhan Akhtar, Akshaye Khanna, Aamir Khan and Preity Zinta were a part of this joyful film that we can’t ever forget!
In 2006, we saw few ‘twenty’ something guys who went on to tackle the real issues of corruption in the country and we were in awe of them! The movie had everything you look for in a classic - terrific characters, superb dialogues and fantastic music supporting it! This film should be preserved and cherished and not ever be retouched!
If there was a way to describe New Delhi and its characters in a film, Dibakar Bannerjee could have alone done it and he did it exceptionally well! There is nobody better than him, who could replace Anupam Kher or Boman Irani in the film!
Imtiaz Ali gave us something to remember 2007 by! Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were the two characters who made this film way too delightful and interesting. No replacing that!
